You may be prompted by Textual that it has copied files to a new location on your Mac for one of the following reasons:
Transition to Sandbox
Beginning with version 7.2.4, Textual is now sandboxed. Sandboxing an app isolates it from the rest of your Mac so that damage is limited in the event of a security breach. As part of the transition to a sandbox, the location in which files related to Textual are accessed from changed. Textual will automatically copy files from the old location to the new location to make this change as seamless as possible.
The files at the old location will no longer be accessed. Unless you plan to downgrade to an earlier version of Textual at some point in the future, it is recommended to remove these files.
If you prefer to manually review these files before taking action, then you can do so by navigating to the following folder:
~/Library/Group Containers/com.codeux.apps.textual/
Transition from Mac App Store
The version of Textual available for download from codeux.com is referred to as the Standalone Version. If the Standalone Version of Textual locates an installation from the Mac App Store, then it will copy files from that installation to make the switch to the Standalone Version easier.
The files at the old location will no longer be accessed. Unless you plan to return to the Mac App Store version of Textual at a later time, it is recommended to remove these files.
If you prefer to manually review these files before taking action, then you can do so by navigating to the following folder:
~/Library/Group Containers/8482Q6EPL6.com.codeux.irc.textual/
