Textual 3 release notes

These are the original Codeux release records; references to future plans, support and availability describe the release at the time.

Release Notes for Version 3.2.3

The following list is a summary of all major additions, changes, and fixes part of version 3.2.3 of the Textual IRC Client.

Additions

• Returned preference to disable notifications when Textual is focused. Was removed in version 3.2.0.

Changes

• The last one-hundred (100) messages of chat history is now presented when Textual opens.

• The private message notification now offers a Reply button when using Notification Center on OS X Mavericks.

• The action to disable all notifications and notification sounds can now be accessed from the Dock menu.

• The Command key followed by zero (0) to nine (9) now switches between channels based on the order of the server list. Actions that previously used these keyboard shortcuts have been remapped to the Control key.

Release Notes for Version 3.2.2

The following list is a summary of all major additions, changes, and fixes part of version 3.2.2 of the Textual IRC Client.

Additions

• Added a Move Backward action to Navigation menu.

• Added iTunes Radio support to the np command.

Changes

• Log files written to disk now ignore user configured Nickname Format and Timestamp Format.

• The logic of nickname tab completion has been modified to ignore many prefix characters. For example, bob<tab> will complete BobDude as well as [bob]

Release Notes for Version 3.2.0

The following list is a summary of all major additions, changes, and fixes part of version 3.2.0 of the Textual IRC Client.

Additions

• Added keyboard shortcuts to toggle the visibility of the server list or the member list.

• Added support for the buffextras module of ZNC.

• Added preference to disable viewing of embedded content that exceeds a specific file size.

• Added preference to disable viewing of embedded content that exceeds a specific height.

• Added preference to toggle away status when the display goes to sleep.

Changes

• The detach command can now be used without specifying a target channel.

Release Notes for Version 3.1.0

The following list is a summary of all major additions, changes, and fixes part of version 3.1.0 of the Textual IRC Client.

Additions

• Added detach command which can be used when connected to ZNC.

Changes

• Join, part, and quit activity for self is now displayed regardless of user preference.

• Notification bubbles and sounds are now disabled for the playback buffer of ZNC.

• Dock icon bouncing can now be turned on or off for individual notification types.

Release Notes for Version 3.0.4

Release Notes for Version 3.0.3

Release Notes for Version 3.0.2

The following list is a summary of all major additions, changes, and fixes part of version 3.0.2 of the Textual IRC Client.

Additions

• Highlights can now be configured on a per-server or per-channel basis through Server Properties.

• Double clicking a user can now be configured to insert the user's nickname into the main input text field.

Changes

• The script 8| is no longer bundled with Textual.

• Private message notifications have been enabled by default including the use of the sound Submarine.

• The Wiki-style Link Parser addon has been refactored to make it much more user friendly.

• The Message of the Day (MOTD) of a server is now displayed as a single blob of text with a fixed-width font.

Release Notes for Version 3.0.1

The following list is a summary of all major additions, changes, and fixes part of version 3.0.1 of the Textual IRC Client.

Additions

• Added preference to enable old channel navigation behavior.

• Added keyboard shortcut Shift Command M to toggle mute on notification sounds.

• Added now playing command for Radium.

Changes

• The apps command has been modified to count hidden applications.

• The output of a script will now be sent to the channel that was selected when it was performed.
