This material preserves the original Textual documentation and may describe older versions, former services, or superseded policies. It is not a statement of current availability or new Blendbyte commitments.
For current guidance: Licences and the App Store transition.
Current guidance: Do not follow the deletion step below. Textual is no longer sold in the Mac App Store, and a new download is not guaranteed to be available. Deleting your installed copy can remove the only copy of the app and its purchase receipt. Keep your installed copy and back up your preferences instead. See guidance for Mac App Store owners, and contact us if a restore fails.
This guide will instruct you how to restore your purchase of Textual in the Mac App Store when doing so using the “Restore Purchase” button fails.
Restore Purchase
To restore your purchase, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Applications folder on your Mac using Finder.
- Locate Textual.app inside the Applications folder.
- Delete Textual.app
- Open the Mac App Store and download a new copy of Textual from the Purchases section.
Downloading a new copy of Textual in the Mac App Store forces the store to download a new receipt to your Mac which is used to understand what you own.
